Photographic archive of Avatar Meher Baba, consisting of original photographs taken by Elizabeth Chapin Patterson during her meetings with Meher Baba, on worldwide travels including India, USA, and Europe. Other photographs are Elizabeth's personal collection of prints.
Elizabeth first met Meher Baba at Harmon, New York City in 1931 and was a devoted follower for the rest of her life.
Elizabeth gifted property of 500 acres of virgin forest land in 1944-5, in Myrtle Beach South Carolina USA, to be used as spiritual retreat dedicated to Meher Baba and was assisted in its creation by her friend Norina Matchabelli. The Center is presently known as Meher Spiritual Center and is a place of pilgrimage.
